OF TWO MINDS is a feature documentary that reveals the extraordinary lives, struggles and successes of a few of the over 5 million Americans living with bipolar disorder. The film explores what it really feels like to be bipolar - from the raging highs of mania to the depths of despair and depression. Far from a clinical study of mental health issues, this film is a vibrant canvas of emotions ranging from painful to painfully funny, as we experience three years in the lives of our unique characters from across America.
We’ve found while making the film that just about everyone has a connection to this issue - whether it’s our parents, brothers and sisters, children, lovers, friends…or ourselves. With this film, we are reaching out with intimate stories of people who live with bipolar every day. We strongly believe that by putting a human face on this issue we can work toward reducing the stigma that has plagued the understanding of mental illness for so long.
…We started work on OF TWO MINDS in 2008, and have met so many amazing, courageous and creative people in the process…now we are nearly finished, and we need your help. The film has been entirely a labor of love, and we are faced with the major costs of finalizing the film…music, post production, finishing costs and much more…to prepare it for upcoming festivals and eventual nationwide venues including theatrical and television.
